Our origins<\/h4><\/div>

We are a beekeeping company located in Garriguella<\/strong>, in the l\u2019Alt Empord\u00e0 (Girona)<\/strong>, dedicated to the production, packaging and marketing of honey and pollen<\/strong>, both from our own harvest and purchased from other producer partners and beekeepers. We started in this activity in 1983 and also, for a few years now, we have been producers of certified organic honey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the experience of a lifetime dedicated to the rural world, we firmly believe that only by respecting nature and living in harmony with the environment, will we be able to offer a quality, handcrafted product<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Sustainable beekeeping<\/h4><\/div>

Thanks to solar panels<\/strong> strategically installed on the roof of our workshop since 2005, we obtain more than half of the energy we need throughout the year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This commitment to solar energy<\/strong> not only allows us to reduce our environmental footprint, but also offers us a sustainable and renewable<\/strong> source to carry out our daily activities.<\/p>\n

    Jordi<\/strong>: I have passion for nature and have been interested in ecology since I was very young. I have been a vineyard and olive farmer all my life and at one point I thought about bees as a supplement. I was the founding partner in 1983.<\/p>\n

    I started out simple, a bit rudimentary. I made honey with a small tank in the garage at home. What I have kept from day one is the passion for bees and nature.<\/p>\n

    Assumpci\u00f3<\/strong>: I am an energetic, agile and cheerful woman. I love to observe the environment and write simple poems for the ones I love the most.<\/p>\n

    I entrusted myself with Jordi’s passion for nature and bees and we ended up leading the society together. We both worked, if necessary, seven days a week. I was in charge of the store and also looked after the paperwork. With our three children, Maria, Marta and Gerard; and the business, we were well entertained.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    For 14 years I worked as a truck driver, mainly transporting construction materials. When I met Maria, Jordi’s daughter, I not only fell in love with her but also discovered a new passion in the world of bees.<\/p>\n

    I decided that my new life path would be in the world of beekeeping and since 2012 I have been part of the company. In 2013, I started, as a beekeeper, an organic honey production farm for Abellaires.<\/p>\n

    Today I am also a partner of Abellaires Empordanesos and, in addition to managing the three operations we work at home, I also manage hives and develop other beekeeping services for close companies in the region.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    I worked for 15 years at the Garriguella Cooperative, but I felt that I could contribute more from home by helping to continue my parents\u2019 legacy \u2014 working to improve and modernise the business.<\/p>\n

    I love becoming aware of and trying to apply the lessons that bees teach us every day: teamwork, discipline, order, cleanliness\u2026<\/p>\n

    We are a family business where everyone has a place. We follow the example of the bees, who together form a fantastic, collaborative team.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    In family matters I am the brother-in-law and son-in-law. Pure Catalan-Leonese! Before working with the Abellaires Empordanesos, I was the manager of a sports equipment store in Figueres, I am passionate about sports and I was actually a football player.<\/p>\n

    Within the team I am in charge of the store and warehouse and of taking care of the honey from the honeycomb until it reaches your hands. I package it, I do all the quality controls and I explain it to you with joy, effusivity and with the same passion with which I live life.<\/p>\n<\/div>
